Seasons and closures

Ueno Park is celebrated in spring for its cherry blossoms. Hama-rikyū Gardens has a peony garden, a plum grove and fields of seasonal flowers, and holds falconry and aikido demonstrations at New Year. Some hours move with the year: Meiji Jingu opens at sunrise and closes at sunset, the main hall of Senso-ji Temple opens half an hour later from October to March, and Shinjuku Gyoen normally closes on Mondays, except in its spring period (late March to late April) and in early November.
