Our guide
Honjō Castle in Yurihonjō, southern Akita, was at the end of the Edo period the home of the Rokugō clan, daimyō of the Honjō Domain. It was also known as Tsurumai-jō or Ozaki-jō. Our source says little more than that, so this page is short.
Ugo-Honjō Station on the Uetsu Main Line is about 900 m away in a straight line. We have not checked what can be seen on the site today.
