What this place is
Ozegahara (尾瀬ヶ原) is a high altitude marshland in the Oze National Park, Japan. Approximately 8 km2 in size, the marshland is well known for various species of plants, including the "mizu-bashō" (White Skunk Cabbage), "Nikkōkisuge" (yellow alpine lilies, Hemerocallis dumortieri var. esculenta) and "Watasuge" (Eriophorum vaginatum). The marshland is a popular hiking destination.
Oze National Park (尾瀬) is one of the standout places to visit in Gunma. Give yourself unhurried time for photos, seasonal views, and nearby food stops. IC cards such as Suica, Pasmo, or ICOCA cover most trains and city buses.

- Seasonal buses from JR stations/Numata toward trailheads.

- Peak bloom weekends are extremely busy; weekday mornings are calm.
- Bloom dates shift by up to two weeks per year — check the latest forecast before committing.
- Alcohol and barbecues are restricted in many parks; look for the posted rules at the gate.
