Niseko is the name of a mountainous region and international resort area in Hokkaido's Shiribeshi Subprefecture, centred on the Niseko volcanic group and especially Niseko Annupuri. It is not the same as the town of Niseko, and how far it extends depends on who is using the name: in broad tourism usage it covers five municipalities — Iwanai, Kyōwa, Kutchan, Niseko and Rankoshi — while the government-recognised Niseko Tourism Zone is just Kutchan, Niseko and Rankoshi.
It is known for winter sports and heavy snowfall, for hot springs, and for outdoor activities in the green season. Four ski areas on Niseko Annupuri are marketed together as Niseko United and share an all-mountain lift pass.

Niseko (ニセコ) is a name used for a mountainous region and international resort area in Shiribeshi Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan. The region is centred on the Niseko Volcanic Group, particularly Niseko Annupuri, and is distinct from the municipality of Niseko Town. Its geographical extent varies according to context.
