Our guide
Kongō Sanmai-in is a small temple complex on Mount Kōya. It was founded in 1211 at the order of Hōjō Masako to pray for the soul of Minamoto no Yoritomo, and in 1219 it took the name Kongō Sanmai-in in memory of Minamoto no Sanetomo.
Mount Koya is about 300 m away and Kongōbu-ji about 500 m. We have not checked opening hours or fees.

Kongō Sanmai-in (金剛三昧院, Kongō Sanmai-in) is a minor temple complex on Mount Kōya in Japan, founded in 1211 by order of Hōjō Masako for posthumous soul of Minamoto no Yoritomo and renamed "Kongō Sanmai-in" in 1219 for that of Minamoto no Sanetomo.
