Our guide

Imabari Castle was the seat of the Imabari Domain in the Edo period, ruled for most of its history by a branch of the Hisamatsu-Matsudaira family. It is known as one of Japan's three great “castles on the sea” (mizujiro), together with Takamatsu Castle in Kagawa and Nakatsu Castle in Ōita.

Imabari Station on the Yosan Line is about 1.2 km away in a straight line. Imabari is also the Shikoku end of Shimanami Kaidō. We have not checked opening hours or fees, so check local information before you go.
