Our guide
Ōyamazumi Shrine stands on the island of Ōmishima in the Seto Inland Sea, part of the city of Imabari. It was the ichinomiya, the leading shrine, of the old province of Iyo. Its main festival is held every year on the 22nd day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar.
The gates open from about sunrise until 17:00, and the treasure hall keeps shorter hours. We have not checked a public-transport route to the island, so plan the journey on the map. Ōmishima Island has its own page.
