Our guide

Gero Onsen, in Gero in the old province of Hida, has a long reputation. In the Muromachi period the monk Banri Shūku named it one of the “three famous springs”, together with Arima Onsen and Kusatsu Onsen, and in the Edo period the scholar Hayashi Razan also wrote of the three as the finest springs in the land.

Gero Station on the Takayama Main Line is about 500 m away in a straight line, so it is easy to reach by train. We have not checked individual inns or public baths.
