Our guide
Echigo-Yuzawa Onsen is a hot spring in the town of Yuzawa, Niigata, in what was once Echigo Province, and it was the model for the spa town in Yasunari Kawabata's novel Snow Country. It is sometimes simply called Yuzawa Onsen, and the name is also used for all the hot springs in the town together.
Echigo-Yuzawa Station on the Jōetsu Line is about 250 m away in a straight line, so it is easy to reach by train. We have not checked individual inns or baths.
