The Wajima Morning Market in Kawai-machi, Wajima, Ishikawa, is counted with those of Katsuura and Takayama among Japan's three great morning markets. It used to be held along about 360 m of the street known as Asaichi-dōri.
Please read this before planning a visit: the market's site was lost in the large fire that followed the Noto Peninsula earthquake of 1 January 2024. Since then some stallholders have sold elsewhere as a travelling “Wajima Morning Market”, while work continues towards reopening in the city. We have not checked where or when it is currently held, so look for the latest local information before you go.
