Our guide

Kibune is a district of Sakyō Ward, Kyoto, north of the city centre. Together with neighbouring Kurama it is known as a retreat from the city. Restaurant inns line the narrow valley between Mount Kibune and Mount Kurama, and in summer they serve meals on platforms built over the Kibune River, drawing people escaping Kyoto's heat. Kifune Shrine stands upstream, and the valley is also known for its autumn colours.

Tahōtō Station is about 1.1 km from the point this page is mapped to, in a straight line. We have not checked a route from central Kyoto, so look for local information before you go.
