Our guide

Komoro Castle, in the city of Komoro in central Nagano, was at the end of the Edo period the home of a junior branch of the Makino clan, daimyō of the Komoro Domain. It was also called Ana-jō, “the hollow castle”, because it lies lower than its castle town, and Hakutsuru-jō, the White Crane Castle. Today it is open to the public as Kaikoen.

Komoro Station on the Shinano Railway is only about 400 m away. We have not checked opening hours or fees.
