Our guide
Kawagoe Castle is a flatland castle in the city of Kawagoe, Saitama. Since Edo Castle is now the Imperial Palace and largely closed, it is the closest castle to Tokyo that visitors can go into.
It is part of a walk around old Kawagoe: Kawagoe Warehouse District is about 700 m away in a straight line and Kita-in about 800 m. Hon-Kawagoe Station is about 1.5 km off. We have not checked opening hours or fees.
