Our guide

The Chōjagahara temple ruins, in what is now the city of Ōshū, Iwate, are the remains of a Buddhist temple of the late Heian period. The site became a National Historic Site in 2002. Our source says little more than that, so this page is short.

Chuson-ji Temple is about 1.3 km away, Takadachi Gikeido about 2.3 km and Kinkeizan about 2.8 km. We have not checked what can be seen at the site.
