Where to start

Two routes are checked: Kokusai-dori runs between Kenchōmae and Makishi stations on the Okinawa Urban Monorail (Yui Rail), and buses from Naha, including a direct shuttle from Naha Airport, stop at the Chatan Gateway transport hub for American Village. Other pages name the nearest station: Shuri for Shurijo Castle, Gibo for Shureimon, Asahibashi for Naminoue Shrine & Beach and Urasoe-Maeda for Urasoe Castle. No station is listed near Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, Nakijin Castle Ruins, Manzamo Cape or Sefa-utaki.

Seasons and closures

The main hall of Shurijo Castle is due to open to the public on 23 November 2026, when entry to the paid area will cost more. Manzamo Cape may close for typhoons. Sueyoshi-gū holds its main festival every year on 23 November.
