Our guide
Tsumago-juku, in Nagiso, was the 42nd of the 69 post towns on the Nakasendō, the Edo-period highway between Edo and Kyoto. It has been restored to look as it did as an Edo-era post town, and it is a popular place to visit. The next post town along the road, number 43, was Magome-juku; Narai-juku was number 34.
We have not checked a public-transport route, so plan the journey on the map and look for local information before you go.
