Our guide
Narai-juku was the 34th of the 69 post towns on the Nakasendō, the Edo-period highway between Edo and Kyoto, and the second of the eleven stations of the Kisoji, the road through the Kiso Valley. It is now part of the city of Shiojiri. Magome-juku, the last of the eleven Kisoji stations, is further along the same road.
Narai Station on the Chūō Main Line is about 650 m from the point this page is mapped to. Our source says little more, so this page does not describe the town today; check local information before you go.
