Taga Taisha, in the town of Taga, Shiga, is a Shinto shrine that local people often call O-Taga-san. The gardens of its inner shoin, dating from the Momoyama period, are a Place of Scenic Beauty, and the mid-Edo shoin itself is a Shiga Prefectural Important Cultural Property.
Taga Taisha-mae Station on the Ohmi Railway Taga Line is about 650 m away in a straight line. Saimyō-ji is about 4.7 km off. We have not checked opening hours or fees for the garden.

What this place is
Taga-taisha (多賀大社) is a Shinto shrine located in the town of Taga, Inukami District, Shiga Prefecture, Japan. The shrine is frequently referred to as O-Taga-san (お多賀さん) by local residents. The gardens of the inner shoin, which date to the Momoyama period are a nationally designated Place of Scenic Beauty, whereas the mid-Edo period Shoin itself is a Shiga Prefectural Important Cultural Property.
