Sakurai-no-eki was a post station on the old Saigoku Kaidō highway, in what is now the Sakurai area of the town of Shimamoto, Osaka. It is known for its connection with the imperial loyalist Kusunoki Masashige and was designated a National Historic Site in 1921.
Shimamoto Station is only about 50 m away, and Minase Shrine about 900 m.
