Our guide

Sakamoto Castle was a Sengoku-period castle on the shore of the lake in Ōtsu, Shiga, commanded by Akechi Mitsuhide. Our source says little more than that, so this page is short, and we have not checked what can be seen at the site today.

Matsunobamba Station on the Ishiyama Sakamoto Line is about 900 m away in a straight line. Enryaku-ji is about 3.5 km off.
