The Northern Culture Museum opens the house and grounds of the Itō family, who were among the great landowners of the Niigata plain, and is also called the “Gōnō no Yakata”, the wealthy farmer's mansion. It stands in Sonomi, Kōnan Ward, on the eastern side of Niigata city.
Niigata City lists a bus to Kami-Sonomi Hakubutsukan-mae, by way of Sonomi towards Niitsu, and parking for 400 cars. The museum has a branch in central Niigata as well; this page is the main house in Sonomi.
