Our guide
Kiwanosaku was a fortified stockade of the late Nara to Heian periods in what is now Sakata, Yamagata. Its ruins are an archaeological site and have been a National Historic Site since 1932. Our source says little more than that, so this page is short.
We have not checked what can be seen at the site or a public-transport route.
