Kamitōri is a street in Chūō Ward, Kumamoto, made up of a covered arcade and the tree-lined Namiki-zaka, running north from the tram stop on Tōrichō-suji, the city's main avenue; the name is also used for the whole shopping area around it. Across Tōrichō-suji, Shimotōri runs south towards the city hall, department stores and offices. Together they are the city centre's fashion street, busy with young people.
Torichosuji tram stop is about 200 m away in a straight line, and Kumamoto Castle about 500 m.
