Our guide
Iwamura Castle stood in the south-east of Mino Province; its ruins are in Iwamura, in the city of Ena, Gifu. With Takatori Castle in Nara and Bitchū-Matsuyama Castle in Okayama it is counted among Japan's three great mountain castles, and at 721 m above sea level — 200 m above its surroundings — it is one of the highest in the country.
Iwamura Station is about 1.8 km away in a straight line. It is a mountain site, so allow for a climb; we have not checked the paths or conditions.
