Our guide

Higashiyama Higashi, better known as the Higashi Chaya District, is one of Kanazawa's main sights. It is an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings of about 1.8 hectares. About two-thirds of its 140 buildings are traditional, many of them teahouse-style townhouses built between the founding of the teahouse quarter and the early Meiji era.

Omicho Market is about 1 km away in a straight line, Kanazawa Castle about 1.1 km and Kenrokuen Garden about 1.2 km, so it fits into a walk around central Kanazawa.
