Our guide

Hakushu Distillery is a Japanese whisky distillery owned by the Suntory group, in the Toribara area of the former town of Hakushū, now part of Hokuto, Yamanashi. It was established in 1973 in the forest on the slopes of Mount Kaikoma. In 1981 a second site, Hakushu East, was built near the original, which is now called Hakushu West; all production is now at the newer site.

We have not checked whether visits or tours are offered, or a public-transport route, so check the distillery's own information before you go.
