Our guide

The Akita Inu Preservation Society was founded in 1927 in Ōdate, Akita, to protect and breed the Akita, a dog designated a Natural Monument of Japan. Its Akita Dog Hall, opened in 1977 for the society's 50th anniversary, stands beside Keijō Park, where the society's national spring show brings together close to 200 Akitas every year on 3 May.

Higashi-Ōdate Station on the Hanawa Line is about 1.1 km away in a straight line. We have not checked the hall's opening hours or fees.
