Our guide
Act City Hamamatsu is a complex of four buildings in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka. Its Act Tower, built in 1994, is 213 m high with 45 floors — the tallest building in Shizuoka Prefecture — with the Okura City Hotel on its top 17 floors and an observation deck on the top floor. The tower was designed to look like a harmonica, a nod to the musical-instrument makers based in Hamamatsu, among them Yamaha, Roland, Kawai and Tokai.
Hamamatsu Station is only about 150 m away, and Hamamatsu Castle about 1.2 km. We have not checked the observation deck's hours or fees.
