Our guide
Kanazawa Castle is a large, partly restored castle in Kanazawa. It was the seat of the Kaga Domain, ruled by the Maeda clan for 14 generations from the Sengoku period until the Meiji Restoration.
It is right beside Kenrokuen Garden, which was once the castle's private outer garden — about 400 m away, as are 21st Century Museum and Oyama Shrine. We have not checked opening hours or fees for the restored buildings.
