Our guide
Lake Hamana is a brackish lagoon in Shizuoka Prefecture, spanning the cities of Hamamatsu and Kosai. It was once a true lake and is now joined to the Pacific by a channel; counted as an inland body of water, it is Japan's tenth-largest lake.
The route we have checked goes to Hamamatsu Flower Park: from stop 1 at the bus terminal on the north side of JR Hamamatsu Station, take the Entetsu bus bound for Kanzanji Onsen and get off at Flower Park, right by the entrance. The ride takes about 40 minutes, with buses about every 30 minutes.
