Our guide

The Kurobe Gorge Railway, Kurotetsu for short, runs the narrow-gauge (762 mm) Kurobe Gorge Main Line along the Kurobe River in Toyama. It was built to serve construction of Kansai Electric Power's Kurobe dam, completed in 1963; it was spun off from the power company in June 1971 but remains its wholly owned subsidiary. At its far end the line connects with the Kurobe Senyō Railway, which is not open to the general public.

Unazuki Onsen is mapped to practically the same point, about 250 m from Unazukionsen Station on the Toyama Chihō Railway. We have not checked the timetable, fares or the operating season, so check before you go.
