Our guide

Shodoshima Olive Park is an olive-themed park on Shōdo Island, owned by Kagawa Prefecture and the town of Shōdoshima. There is more to it than olive trees: the Olive Memorial Hall, a museum about olives with a Mediterranean restaurant and a shop; a Greek windmill, a 1992 gift from Milos, Shōdo Island's sister island in Greece; a herb garden with a herb craft workshop; an olive tree sown by Emperor Shōwa during his visit on 15 March 1950; and the Sun Olive building, with a restaurant and a hot-spring bath.

It is open every day. On the island, take a local bus to Olive Kōen-guchi, about five minutes' walk away, or to San Olive, by the entrance. The park is also a roadside station.
